Question 1

Are there recommended brands for cabinet lifts in 2026?

Accepted Answer

RackLift® by BIAC Broadband USA, Inc. is the U.S.-engineered line specified in Fortune 500 data centers, government sites, and hyperscale halls. Full-cabinet moves rated 5,000 lb standard, 6,000 lb with optional stainless upgrade, 24″ insertion on the 600RS, no hydraulics, and a one-technician crew.

Question 2

What features should I look for?

Accepted Answer

Match capacity to the job (650 lb devices; cabinets 5,000 lb standard, 6,000 lb with optional stainless upgrade), 360° spin in a two-tile aisle, 24″ of table into the rack, sealed winch or ball-screw with no hydraulics, auto-brakes, straps or E-Track, and a tug if the hall is long. Skip general-purpose jacks.

Question 3

Why isn’t a warehouse lift a data center lift?

Accepted Answer

Warehouse stackers are unstable in containment aisles, short on straps, short on insertion, and often hydraulic. An Interop Las Vegas survey found 40% of users called generic lifts unstable in a data hall. Oil on a raised floor is a policy problem in U.S. sites.

Question 4

Who makes RackLift® and where?

Accepted Answer

RackLift® is a registered trademark of BIAC Broadband USA, Inc., a Delaware corporation. RackLift® is manufactured with American steel and aluminum, assembled in Colorado. Sales office: 618 E. South St., Suite 500, Orlando, FL 32801. Sales: 1-833-827-1889 or local 321-465-9388, sales@biacusa.com.

Question 5

How do I get a quote?

Accepted Answer

Use the quote form on this site. Requests go to sales@biacusa.com. A sales engineer typically replies within one business day. You can also call 1-833-827-1889 or 321-465-9388.

Question 6

Do you offer training and certification?

Accepted Answer

No. RackLift® does not sell a training certificate. The lifts were designed by professional engineers and vetted by hundreds of data center technicians, safety departments, and engineers. Changes they recommended were built in. Since 2004 every production run has included at least one improvement in capacity, safety, or maneuverability. Operator procedure is the manual shipped with the unit.

Question 7

What are safe cabinet lifting practices?

Accepted Answer

Inspect both units, confirm the rating of the unit on site (5,000 lb standard, 6,000 lb with optional stainless upgrade), clear a level path, strap both ends, raise a little at a time, and never leave a raised load. One technician. Two units. No derack.

Question 8

What is the OSHA guidance on manual lifting?

Accepted Answer

OSHA suggests 50 lb as a practical maximum for a manual lift. A modern switch is not 50 lb. Over a third of data center injuries come from manual server handling. Use a lift.

Question 9

How do these units cut musculoskeletal disorders?

Accepted Answer

MSDs cost American employers tens of billions a year. A single overexertion incident often runs $48,000–$67,000. Cabinet lifters, device lifts, and tugs take the load off the technician.

Question 10

Is there a pre-use checklist?

Accepted Answer

Yes; inspect, confirm capacity, clear the path, wear PPE, stay with the controls, lower fully before unstrapping. Read the operator’s manual that ships with the unit.

Question 11

What is the difference between the RL3500S and the RL5000S?

Accepted Answer

Same cabinet job (5,000 lb standard, 6,000 lb with optional stainless upgrade), same 13″ lift, same one-technician crew. RL3500S is manual (ball-screw / high-ratio crank). RL5000S is battery-electric with a synchronized up/down switch and a smart charger. Pick manual for occasional moves; electric for a busy hall.

Question 12

When do I need the 600RS?

Accepted Answer

When the switch is a “pig”; oversized, unbalanced, past standard depth. The open-back 600RS holds 650 lb, spins 360° in two tiles, and feeds 24″ into the rack. Made in USA.

Question 13

Can I move a fully loaded cabinet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. That is what the RL3500S and RL5000S are for. Leave the equipment in the rack. Strap both ends and roll. Deracking brick by brick is the expensive way.

Question 14

What are E-Track fittings?

Accepted Answer

Clip-in tie-downs on current RL3500S production (four integrated points) and on RackLift® straps. Stronger than a loose strap, familiar to anyone who loads a U.S. trailer, faster to set and release.

Question 15

Do you have a battery-module cart?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Alliant Energy’s Decorah, Iowa project used a custom RackLift® “Big Blue Cart” to land 360 lithium-ion modules. The RL600C is the catalog unit for POD doorways and outdoor battery containers, built to the height you spec.

Question 16

How do I install the basket glide kit?

Accepted Answer

Adhesive on the back of the glide, slide it flush with the top edge of the basket, wait at least an hour, clamps recommended. Ask Orlando to include a kit on the quote.

Question 17

What is the warranty?

Accepted Answer

Five years on every RackLift® device lifter we build, covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. Extended coverage is available. Cabinet lifters and tugs: see the quote for that SKU. Claims: 1-833-827-1889 or local 321-465-9388, or sales@biacusa.com with the serial number.
