Moving fully populated cabinets

Deracking a live cabinet brick by brick is how movers used to bill days. The RL3500S and RL5000S leave the load in the rack.

U.S. data centers are always in motion. Faster gear, more storage, a corporate reshuffle; all of it means cabinets move. Some of that work is well served by leaving every server in the rack and moving the whole cabinet.

What; transport the entire loaded cabinet? Blasphemy, say the people who still pull every device, park it on a cart, walk the empty cabinet, and rebuild the stack. That is moving a house one brick at a time. It is also how a relocation contractor bills a week.

The RackLift® RL3500S and RL5000S were built so one technician can strap both ends, raise a fully loaded cabinet off the tiles (5,000 lb standard, 6,000 lb with optional stainless upgrade), and roll. No derack. No four-person lift. No day of downtime for a row that only needed to shift six tiles.

If the people telling you not to move a loaded cabinet also sell the labor to take it apart, ask them whether they have seen a cabinet lifter. Then call Orlando.
